AUTHORIZATION & ACCREDITATION

Accreditation


"Central Christian University of South Carolina, Inc., an institution whose sole purposes are religious and theological training, is by nature exempt from the Commission's licensure requirements" and "limits their South Carolina offerings to courses for Biblical or theological credentials ".  Because the Christian Counseling Program offered at Central Christian University of SC comes through the National Christian Counseling Association, Sarasota, Florida, the degrees are not eligible for the counselor licensure by the SC Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation.

Central Christian University is a Certified Academic Institution by the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA).

Central Christian University of SC holds Candidate Status with the Association for Biblical Higher Education Commission on Accreditation (5850 T.G. Lee Blvd., Ste 130, Orlando, FL 32822, 407-207-0808.) Candidate Status is a pre-accreditation status granted to those institutions that meet the ABHE Conditions of Eligibility and that possess such qualities as may provide a basis for achieving Accredited status within five years.

The ABHE's Commission on Accreditation is recognized as a national, faith-based accrediting agency by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).  The agency's official scope of CHEA recognition is as follows:

Institution and programs in the United States, Canada, and related territories that offer certificates, diplomas, associate, baccalaureate, or graduate degrees aimed at preparing students for Christian ministries through Bible, church-vocational and general studies.  ABHE is also listed by the United States Department of Education and is a member of the International Council  for Evangelical Theological Education (ICETE).

 

Degree programs are for religious purposes only and are strictly intended for use in the religious community.  Therefore, it is the responsibility of each student to determine prior to registration at Central Christian University that his or her degree program or studies meet admission, employment or transfer requirements.

 

The University makes no representations, promises or guarantees of employment or acceptability of transfer credits to any public or private educational institution.

 

Central Christian University is also a 501C-3 Charitable Organization.
